Randy Lanier CEO of FreedomGrow.Org

Talking Joints Memo

Randy Lanier's life is the stuff of movies—fast cars, fast money, and grand adventures. In 1986, he was named Rookie of the Year at the Indianapolis 500. However, his fame extended beyond the racetrack to his life in Miami, Florida, where he became one of the most notorious convicted pot smugglers in US history. But before all of that, his story began in Lynchburg, Virginia, the birthplace of Randy Lanier.

Although Randy has few regrets, one is not recognizing the value of family moments he can never get back. After spending almost 3 decades in federal prison and overturning a life sentence in 2014, he now focuses on what he lost sight of before: being a father to his children, a husband to his wife, and a dedicated advocate for incarcerated individuals with nonviolent cannabis offenses through his organization, FreedomGrow.Org.

Freedom Grow is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that helps cannabis prisoners regain their freedom. Through their Wish Program, they support prisoners by providing commissary money, books, magazines, family outreach, and public education. They are always seeking partnerships with brands to support their cause, and donations are also welcome through the link below.
